operation christmas

one of my favorite parts of christmas, is giving gifts, especially to those who i know will fully appreciate them.  operation christmas child is a ministry that helps provide christmas for those who might not normally have one.

its simple, take a shoebox, fill it with as many items for a boy or a girl that you can, including school supplies, toys, hard candy, and hygiene items.  i love how creative you can get with this part.

here is a picture of my  box and items.  i made my for a girl ages 5-9.

i still can't believe i was able to get everything in.

so consider making someone else's christmas day, and create your own shoebox full of happiness.

autumn sunshine

some pictures from my date with dane today.  enjoy!

 the trees today were absolutely gorgeous, so we had to snag a couple photos.

 its a return of the cutest animal hats ever.  dane's choice for this year was the squirrel hat he appropriately named rocky, and i chose a snowy wolf hat.

 and finally, we went for a hike at konza prairie.  it was absolutely gorgeous, soaking up all of the autumn sun we could take!

this week, i celebrated the official beginning of autumn.  my absolute favorite season.  i bought two of my favorite in season fruits...pears and gala apples...and created an autumn playlist for you all to enjoy.

i have such a love for ceiling décor, i need to add a little to my own humble abode.

so badly this weekend i have wished i was at the renegade craft fair in chicago's wicker park.

not only are some of my favorite artists there, but there is great music and who doesn't love wicker park? but i'm not there. so i decided to go online window shopping at the renegade store, also in chicago, and i found some things i love love love!

i feel like this t-shirt would look amazing on my boyfriend or brother.
